Justices of the Peace are highly-respected members of the community who play an important role in modern society.
They are voluntary workers in Queensland's legal system and perform a range of judicial and administrative functions. There are two types of JPs; JP (Qualified) and JP (Commissioner for Declarations).
In a complex legal environment these people provide a variety of specialised services to the legal system and the Queensland public.
The duties of a JP (Qualified) are more onerous than those of a JP (Commissioners for Declarations). If you want more information please read the Justice Department information page [HERE].
Application forms are available from Geoff's Electorate Office, or can be downloaded by visiting the Department of Justice website [HERE].
If you have any further questions, or would like Geoff to mail you an application form just contact the electorate office.
