The Samford Road - Wardell Street Intersection Upgrade

The Department of Transport and Main Roads is undertaking planning for the upgrade of the Samford Road and Wardell Street intersection and has developed concept plan which is designed to improve traffic flow and road safety at the intersection and surrounding areas.

Interim works: Commenced in November 2011 and were completed in mid January 2012.

Upgrade project

2011-2012:

• Final planning and refine concept
• Preliminary construction design
• Property acquisition

2012-2013:

• Final construction design
• Pre-construction (tendering, service relocation, completion of property acquisition)

2013-2014: Construction
2014-2015: Construction
